Suite of social housing contracts comes to market
Social housing buying consortium, Procure Plus, has published a contract notice for a broad set of frameworks with 48 lots on offer for skills from kitchen installation to masonry.
The total value of the contracts is up to £397.5m.
Specifically designed to be accessible to companies of all sizes, the framework is divided into 48 lots of varying size, which are further subdivided geographically to service contracts across Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside, Cheshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire and Cumbria.
There is a wide number of opportunities available through the framework, with lots suiting a number of trades, including: the installation of kitchens, bathrooms, windows and doors; ventilation, heating and renewable heating installation; brickwork and masonry; roofing; asbestos removal; adaptations and paint and pre-paint repairs.
"The new framework will offer flexibility to both the landlord and contractor, increasing the range of works that can be instructed. As such, the framework could provide opportunities for businesses large or small, national or local," said Clare Tetlow, senior procurement manager at Procure Plus. "Last year, projects worth £85m were completed through the labour framework and we expect high uptake again this year, representing a huge business opportunity for companies in the region."
The pre-qualification questionnaire is now available and the deadline for submissions is 5pm on Monday 19 August 2013. Following this, short-listed contractors will receive an invitation to tender in November 2013.
