STA Travel commits to St George’s House

OBI Property has reported a deal with STA Travel to renew its lease on 7,000 sq ft in the Peter Street building for a further five years.

STA Travel did a search of the Manchester office market but decided to renew its two leases on the sixth and seventh floors.

Landlord St George's Developments carried out a £250,000 facelift of the main reception. The landlord will continue its investment in the building with the refurbishment of 29,100 sq ft across floors two to five planned. St George's Developments is a private property company owned by Ged Mason, chief executive of international recruitment firm, Morson Group.

Richard Lace, associate director of OBI Property and joint letting agent on St George's House, said: "For STA Travel to commit to remain in St George's House for a further five years illustrates the pragmatic approach the landlord is willing to adopt to ensure we retain existing tenants and attract new ones to the building.

"Over the coming months we will start speculative refurbishment of the vacant floors. The quality of the accommodation that will be on offer, coupled with the excellent location close to the newly refurbished Town Hall, City Library and transformed St Peters Square will ensure the building continues to be extremely appealing to a large number of Manchester businesses."

OBI Property and Canning O'Neill are joint letting agents on St George's House. OBI Property is also carrying out the refurbishment works on St George's House.
