Solicitors occupy Douglas House

Oliver & Co Quality Solicitors has acquired the freehold on an office building formally occupied by the Bank of Scotland at 117 Foregate Street in Chester.

Douglas House extends to 8,234 sq ft in total over three floors and was sold by Lloyds Banking Group for an undisclosed sum.

Part of the building comprises a historic John Douglas designed period building dating from 1860, with an extension developed in the early 1990s.

Tom Creer, associate director at Beresford Adams Commercial, who negotiated the acquisition on behalf of Oliver & Co Quality Solicitors, said: "This was a rare opportunity to acquire such a prestigious and prominent headquarters office building in Chester and we are delighted to have secured the property on behalf of our clients, who will be relocating from rented offices at Watergate Street."

Kay Cook, director at Oliver & Co Quality Solicitors, added: "The building is currently being refurbished and we hope to move in towards the end of May."
