Shenton puts Mash & Air block on market for £2m
Shenton Homes has appointed Knight Frank and P3 Property Consultants to market the former Mash & Air bar-restaurant and Jongleurs comedy club, in Manchester city centre's gay village.
Offers in excess of £2m are invited for the 20,000 sq ft building, called ETRE, on Chorlton Street. ETRE comes with planning consent for residential but a new application would be required for any change of use to commercial.
Interest is anticipated from potential owner-occupiers in the creative industries and also boutique hotel operators.
In July, it emerged the owners of the nearby Velvet restaurant and bar on Canal Street are planning a 20-bed boutique hotel in the upper floors of their building.
Colin Shenton, managing director of Shenton Homes, commented: "Following the closure of the restaurant, we acquired the building with the intention of converting it into apartments. However, we are now looking at a range of options for the building, which has a lot to offer, including a superb location, high ceilings, characteristic features and excellent natural light."
