Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham has asked Transport for Greater Manchester and operator KeolisAmey to submit monthly reports on the performance of Metrolink, following criticism of the way incidents and delays have been handled and communicated.

Land assembly starts on £190m Preston road scheme

Land assembly and compulsory purchase orders for a 4.3km dual carriageway to the west of Preston, connecting the A583 Preston to Blackpool Road at Lea with a new Junction 2 on the M55, are due to start after being approved by Lancashire County Council.

Liverpool brings highways services in-house

By mutual agreement, Liverpool City Council has ended its highways contract with Amey, reflecting a council-wide review that has seen parks services, street cleaning, bin collections, IT, HR and payroll services all returned to direct council control.
