PODCAST | Scheming with Howard Lord
This week on Scheming, the founder and managing director of Cert Property chats with Place North West about how the 2008 financial crash forced him down the development route, defying the market in Liverpool, and using creative industries as a driver for regeneration.
Scheming is a brand-new Place North podcast series that provides some of the biggest names in property the chance to talk about three schemes they think about a lot:
- The one they are most proud of
- The one they wish they had done
- Their dream scheme
As well as discussing his three schemes, Lord talked about trying to break out of the ingrained systems the property industry has relied upon for generations that make the UK less innovative than other countries.
“As an industry we are quite rigid in how we look at things,” he said. “Compared to other European markets, we are a lot less innovative in our approach to building projects. That is one of my biggest gripes.”
