Wrexham industrial site set to become housing

Air Products has gained outline planning permission for 230 homes to be built on its former works at Acrefair in Wrexham.

There will be substantial open space for public use and the works social club will be transferred to the members to run.

As well as housing there will be two acres set aside for commercial uses, possibly shops, storage units or offices.

Broadway Malyan advised on the planning. Preston O'Herlihy is marketing the site for sale to house builders.

Brendan O'Herlihy, partner at Preston O'Herlihy, said: "The site is one of the largest of its type in single ownership for sale in North Wales and will deliver a substantial portion of Wrexham's identified housing shortfall, as well as local employment and investment.

"The site is located along Llangollen Road, the primary access way to the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct which gained World Heritage Status in 2009 and is a major tourist attraction."
