Winsford enjoys continued industrial health

Lamont Commercial has reported a flurry of deals in the mid-Cheshire town as occupiers take advantage of low prices.

Jean retailer Warehouse One signed a ten-year lease for 45,000 sq ft of warehousing at the Smee Timber site off Smokehall Lane at a rent of around £3.00/sq ft.

Jointly with agents Fifield Glynn, Lamont completed a new build pre-let of 12,000/sq ft for Andrews Developments on Road 5 in Winsford Industrial Estate to Newbury Data.

Matthew Pochin, director at Lamont Commercial, said: "Design-and-builds have been very thin on the ground for the past 18 months or so, especially of this size. This may be a sign of things to come with no spec building and a reduction in the number of good quality standing units."

As reported prior to Christmas on Place, Lamont and CBRE advised Pochin Developments on the disposal of 30,000/sq ft of office and distribution space to Creative Arts, a supplier of art materials to schools.
