Wilkinson signs in Altrincham

Wilkinson, the discount home and garden retailer, is to open a 19,000 sq ft store in the Stamford Quarter in Altrincham.

Mike Knowles, associate director of lettings agent Savills, said the deal took the 400,000 sq ft centre to 94% let.

Jones Lang LaSalle was appointed as joint Law of Property Act receivers for the Stamford Quarter in January 2011. David Wightman, of JLL, centre manager of the Stamford Quarter, added: "Wilkinson is a major household name offering a vast range of products. We are delighted to welcome the company to the Stamford Quarter. The choice of stores within the centre continues to increase and later this year Barclays Bank will also open a state of the art branch within the Stamford Quarter. We strongly believe that this mix of businesses will all benefit Altrincham and the exciting future development of the town."
