Walkabout building sold

Development Securities has sold the Quay Street home of the Walkabout bar in Manchester to a local private investor for a sum in excess of its guide price of £1.5m.

The freehold property investment was up for auction at the Acuitus commercial property auction next week in London, but has sold prior.

The 35,000 sq ft property is entirely let to Intertain Group at a rent of £150,000/year until 2033.

Intertain Group operates 36 bars and comedy venues throughout the country.

The property, located between Spinningfields business district and Great Northern Square leisure quarter, comprises over ground and first floor bars, a nightclub on second floor and hotel accommodation on third and fourth floors with a basement cellar and kitchen accommodation.
