Stobart steps down from board

Warrington-based multimodal transport logistics firm Stobart has announced William Stobart and David Irlam are stepping down from the group board to concentrate on the core transport and logistics divisions.

The group said both will remain directors of the key operating subsidiaries, with Stobart as chief operating officer and Irlam with responsibility for business development.

The company also said Nick Watts and Daniel Dayan will be stepping down from their roles as non-executive directors on the group's board.

Rodney Baker-Bates, chairman of Stobart Group, said: "The highly competitive and fast moving logistics market demands experience and authority close to the key operating decisions. These changes will reinforce our ability to deliver outstanding service at competitive cost to our customers. I would also like to thank both Nick and Daniel for their commitment, guidance and considerable contribution to the board."

Stobart Group employs over 5,300 people and provides road, rail, sea and air transport and logistics solutions to its customers.
