Steel giant to sell St Helens warehouse

Steel giant Arcelor Mittal has instructed Colliers International to sell a warehouse and production facility on the Abbotsfield Road Industrial Estate in St Helens.

Arcelor Mittal occupied the 78,126 sq ft property in 1996 after it was constructed for the business.

The building is situated on an 8.6 acre site with access to junction 7 of the M62 motorway and the A570 St Helens linkway.

Andy Backhouse, from Colliers International, said: "The unit has a number of amenities that will appeal to occupiers in the current market. It has a good eaves height, three cranes and plenty of yard space and expansion land.

"We are quoting £2.5m which we feel represents a great opportunity for an occupier to acquire a quality unity on cost effective terms."

Arcelor Mittal has made a decision to relocate the St Helens operation to other facilities within the group.

The company's UK headquarters is based in London and it has operations in more than 60 countries.
