Space Invader adds third director

Gavin King, formerly of Sheppard Robson interior design subsidiary ID:SR, has joined Manchester-based independent studio Space Invader as a director.

King was an associate partner and Manchester head of ID:SR until he left in July. He joined co-founders Simon Millington and John Williams this month as the third director of Space Invader, which now employs eight designers. Clients include NCC Group, Aberdeen Asset Management, Regatta, Hill Dickinson, the Co-operative Bank and Savills.

King has 23 years' experience in commercial interiors and worked on the BBC North and ITV moves to Media City UK, Manchester Metropolitan University's new Birley Field's campus and office refurbishments for KPMG and Deloitte in Leeds, Newcastle, Manchester and Cardiff.

Space Invader was established in 2010 by Simon Millington and John Williams, formerly of HKR Architects and Ryder Architects respectively.
