Sell takes lead at RICS networking group

Clare Sell is the new chairman of RICS matrics Merseyside & Cheshire, the networking and support group for surveying students, trainees and those with less than 10 years' surveying experience.

A portfolio surveyor at the Emerson Group, Alderley Edge, Sell replaces Hannah Waite, assistant director at Deloitte Real Estate.

James Ryan, senior lifecycle manager at Semperian Capital Management, Warrington, has been appointed vice chairman.

Previously committee members of the group, Sell and Ryan have helped to organise networking events and seminars on a wide range of subjects designed to help surveyors with their professional development.

Sell said: "The committee and I are looking forward to building upon our activities this year with a wide range of topical seminars and fun socials planned for autumn and winter.

"The great thing about matrics is that our seminars and networking events aren't stuffy or formal and they are all low cost, giving surveyors the chance to build up their contacts in a friendly environment that doesn't cost the earth."

An architectural tour of Liverpool is among forthcoming events.
