Roger Hannah enters auction market

Roger Hannah & Co and residential auctioneer Edward Mellor have launched Roger Hannah Auctions under a newly formed alliance.

Stuart Cooper, director of Roger Hannah Auctions, said: "We have listened to the comments made by our many existing clients and have consulted with our large corporate clients. It was evident that a new commercial auction house had to be set up, it was what they wanted."

The two businesses have created a new company to bring together their relative areas of expertise for the benefit of clients who want to use a Manchester-based auctioneer with local knowledge and expertise.

Cooper added: "Our clients told us that they wanted a Manchester-based commercial auctioneer who could focus on this marketplace alone, to act for private and corporate clients and to ensure that they are given the best exposure for selling and attaining the best possible price."

Roger Hannah & Co approached Edward Mellor, believing the company to be the market leader in Manchester and the most advanced and forward thinking in terms of marketing.
Roger Hannah Auctions will hold its first auction on 31 October at Lancashire County Cricket Club.

Cooper went on: "The response we have had from our clients has been fantastic. There have been many recent sales of Manchester property, through less local auctioneers, where it has been noted that properties have been traded on for an average of 25% profit within months. It has been evident that best price hasn't been achieved for the original clients and of course they don't like that. Auctions need to be transparent and honest places to buy property and we are uniquely placed to offer advice and deal with auction sales.

"This is of particular importance when giving advice to receivers and liquidators."

Nick Green, property valuer and auctioneer at Edward Mellor, said: "We are delighted to team up with Roger Hannah & Co and to rebrand the work we were already doing within the commercial market. We have had many successful joint ventures with Roger Hannah in auction and agency work and know that this venture will be successful. Clearly they bring a massive benefit of being an established name in the Manchester property market. The new brand will run alongside our already successful residential brand and will offer the complete auction package for all corporate and private clients, in fact it's a one-stop shop for all residential and commercial property. The excitement levels between us are massive as we know we can deliver the ultimate results to all vendors and buyers."
