Royal London Asset Management has submitted two planning applications to Cheshire East Council for homes at its site on Alderley Road, following the news last month that it is to relocate its office to Alderley Park.
The two applications are for outline consents with access in detail – one for up to 60 homes on land opposite the Royal London campus to the west of Alderley Road; and one for up to 120 homes on the northern part of the campus site on the east of Alderley Road. AHR is the scheme’s architect and HOW the planning consultant.
Although the masterplans are indicative at this stage, a range of housing is envisaged, with both apartments and three and four-bedroom houses referred to by RLAM. The company said: “The delivery of homes is integral to the vision for a ‘living campus’ delivering outstanding places to live, work and relax, whilst being easily accessible to local residents by foot, cycle and public transport.”
RLAM added that the applications are fully consistent with the Local Plan allocation of the site as well as the development framework approved by the council in October.
Due to the residential planning applications seeking approval in detail for access, Royal London will withdraw its previously submitted application, for an access road to be used by construction vehicles during delivery of new office buildings, as well as for a temporary car park for use by campus staff during a redevelopment that is not required due to the Parklands deal.
