Riverside looks for new chairman

Paul Brant, chairman of large Liverpool-based housing association Riverside, has stepped down with immediate effect due to an unspecified personal issue, which recently saw him also resign his post as deputy leader of Liverpool City Council.

Carol Matthews, group chief executive of Riverside, said in a statement: "Paul has informed me that an issue has arisen in his life which requires his full attention and energy over the next few months.

"Paul has given a tremendous amount to Riverside over many years of involvement, serving as a member and chair of Riverside Housing Association before being appointed as group chair in 2010."

Riverside, which manages 55,000 properties, is now looking to appoint an interim chair.
