Preston City Council is set to approve the development of more than 450 homes across two sites at its planning committee meeting later this week, in Lea and in Broughton.
In Lea, Morris Homes and CEG Land have submitted a proposal for 350 homes off Hoyles Lane, with access, open space, landscaping and associated infrastructure.
The 48-acre site is agricultural land, and is part of the North West Preston housing allocation. The scheme will be made up of between two- and five-bedroom houses and apartments, including 105 affordable homes.
The plot benefits from outline planning permission from 2013.
In Broughton, plans by developer Charles Church on behalf of local resident Andrew Forrest to build 112 homes off D’Urton Lane are expected to be signed-off. The proposals were refused by the council in July, and received several objections including from Broughton Council which said that no new development should be permitted in the village until the Broughton Bypass is in place. The development has been reduced from 118 homes to 112.
The scheme would be made up of three- and four-bedroom mews, semi-detached and detached houses, on a 12-acre site currently used as a paddock.

Preston City Council’s planning committee will meet on Thursday 3 December.
