Police stations on market

Six police stations are amongst lots being offered at Pugh & Co's Manchester auction tomorrow, Tuesday 10 July.

Pugh & Co will be looking to sell four police stations on behalf of the Cumbria Constabulary as well as a station on behalf of Lancashire Police and another in Wigan for Greater Manchester Police.

Stephen Swainson, director of Pugh & Co, said: "The police stations provide opportunities which have not been offered to the market previously for developers or investors and we hope these will generate real interest on the auction day."

Pugh & Co holds seven auctions at Old Trafford, Manchester United FC's ground each year, acting on behalf of clients such as local authorities, corporate clients, banks and receivers.

Cumbria Constabulary's lots include the former police station on Rydal Road, Ambleside with a bottom guide price of £100,000 and Silver Street, Kirkby Stephen, Cumbria which is guided between £160,000 and £180,000. Other Cumbria Constabulary stations for sale include Main Street, Cockermouth with a bottom guide price of £200,000 and High Street, Cleator Moor, Cumbria which has a lower guide price of £125,000.

Bacup Police Station on Bank Street, Bacup is being offered by the Lancashire Constabulary at a guide price of £60,000 plus and Ince Police Station in Wigan is for sale at a guide price of £150,000.
