Pochin’s secures Trafford industrial project

The Cheshire-based construction and property specialist has won a £10.4m contract to build a 237,000 sq ft commercial scheme at Trafford Point.

The site, which is under the ownership of affiliates of Harbert European Real Estate Fund III, will see Pochin’s build two steel-framed industrial units of 140,000 sq ft and 97,000 sq ft.

The development will include offices, external works, landscaping and drainage, and is due for completion in August 2016,

The site in Trafford is a former oil storage depot. Since the depot was removed, the site has been remediated to reduce the levels of hydrocarbons in the soil to acceptable levels prior to development.

Michael Sparks Architects designed the scheme.

Pochin’s was recently named as contractor for DeTrafford Estate Group’s £9.2m Rooftop Gardens, in Manchester’s Castlefield.

Jonathan Pochin, managing director of Pochin Construction, said: “It is great to be involved in a project of this scale. Pochin’s has a long-standing presence in Manchester and Trafford, and this development reflects our commitment to delivering high quality projects across the region.”

The development will be managed by CBRE asset services.
