Plans in for Speke Boulevard hotel

Architect Falconer Chester Hall has put forward proposals for a 150-bedroom hotel on a plot fronting Speke Boulevard in Liverpool.

The plans are for a currently-vacant site bordering Longman Drive and next to Dobbies Garden Centre, and have been drawn for developer VelocityGB.

The plot is one of the last remaining development sites in the vicinity, and the proposed hotel will have access to Liverpool John Lennon Airport as well as nearby industrial sites including the Jaguar Land Rover Factory.

Previously, a trampoline park had been planned for the park with an application signed off by Liverpool City Council in April 2017, but this was never progressed.

Falconer Chester Hall’s proposals are for a five-storey hotel of 150 bedrooms targeted at a budget operator; there will also be 150 car parking spaces, but no restaurant or café. Vehicle access will be via Longman Drive. The building is to be clad in a mix of matt-coloured aluminium panels and concrete panels.

A planning application for the development has now been submitted to the council by J10 Planning. The professional team also includes Peak Acoustics; Kingdom Ecology; RBA; Miller Goodall; and YD Squareyard.
