PlaceFirst Architects appoints new director

PlaceFirst Architects, the dedicated in-house design studio of specialist empty homes developer PlaceFirst, has appointed Neil Brown as director of the practice.

Brown joins from NB Architects. He has also held senior positions at Broadway Malyan and LRW Architects and worked on Erie Basin in Salford Quays, Edgbaston Cricket Stadium and the International Trade Centre in Wirral.

PlaceFirst Architecture, based in Didsbury, is currently working on a range of remodelling projects including terraces in Accrington, five-storey former guesthouses in Morecambe, and a tower block in Sefton.

Brown said: "PlaceFirst's current project portfolio presents a really inspiring challenge that will allow the architecture team to design modern, energy efficient places to live and work. I'm looking forward to working closely with PlaceFirst's development team on what are very exciting and pioneering projects, which, due to the fast paced development programme, will soon become a reality."

David Smith-Milne, managing director of PlaceFirst, added: "Neil is an invaluable addition to the PlaceFirst Architecture team. Neil's expertise in residential design and other areas will be vital in our continued success."
