Peel completes takeover of Pinewood

Peel's offer to take over Pinewood closed on Friday with Peel now owning 71.1% of the film studio group.

In June, the Office of Fair Trading said it would not refer the £96m deal to the Competition Commission.

The directors of Pinewood recommended the 200p-a-share deal to shareholders in April.

Peel needs 75% of shares to delist from the stock exchange and take Pinewood private. Stockport-based jeweler, Warren James, has effectively blocked Peel's efforts to take the business private by building a 27% stake.
