NW gets £6.3m to build more affordable homes

The North West will receive a grant worth around £6.3m from the Homes and Communities Agency as part of its drive to build more affordable housing across the country.

A total of £245m will be shared between 43 housing associations and other bodies operating across 97 local authority areas to support delivery of a further 3,400 affordable homes in the UK.

Housing associations in the North West will share just over £5.3m to build 90 homes available to rent and over £900,000 to build a further 26 homes for low cost home ownership.

One of the successful housing associations includes Stockport Homes, which received an allocation to deliver new homes for social rent.
