NHS trust commissions information store

Data centre specialist Sudlows and IT provider Softcat have been selected through a tender process by Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust to design and build a £250,000 data centre facility at the trust's headquarters.

The 14-rack, 1,000 sq ft facility will accommodate a 100kW load. The adjacent plant space will house the new switchboard and power units as well as providing optical fibre connectivity.

Sudlows employs 150 people in Manchester, 90 engineers and 50 project managers. Other recent clients include the Co-operative Group, Zen Internet and Transport for London.
