MIPIM 2015: New film shows next phase of NOMA
The Co-operative Group has reworked its marketing materials for the 20-acre NOMA development in Manchester city centre, with a CGI flyover video launched to the market at the event in Cannes this morning.
The animated film highlights the new city square between the CIS Tower, New Century House and the Hanover Building at the heart of Manchester's NOMA neighbourhood.
The new development will provide a mix of cafés, restaurants, bars and shops amongst the characterful buildings of the NOMA listed estate. The square is due to be completed by September 2015. The new as yet unnamed square, funded by the European Regional Development Fund and Manchester City Council, was designed by Manchester-based landscape architects Planit-IE, and contractors Casey are on-site undertaking initial construction works.
As part of the first Manchester stand event of 2015's international property conference, David Pringle, director of NOMA, gave an overview of current activity at the £800m scheme, aided by new CGIs and a video showing prospective occupiers how the development will look.

The presentation highlighted plans for two new offices next to the HQ 1 Angel Square: the 150,000 sq ft 2 Angel Square office, and the 250,000 sq ft 3 Angel Square, both by AHR Architects.
Both schemes are expected to go in for planning in April.
The office blocks will form part of the second phase of the Co-operative Group and Hermes Real Estate's 20-acre NOMA development near to Manchester Victoria Railway Station. The £800m scheme will be delivered over 10-25 years.
Stage two includes the 95,000 sq ft office, retail and leisure renovation of Hanover House which is due to complete in 2016, Moda Living's Angel Gardens 400-apartment scheme which is awaiting planning approval.
