MIPIM 2008: Media City roadshow to hit London

A roadshow event is to be held in London in a bid to highlight Peel Holdings' Media City development at Salford Quays to the capital's media occupiers.

Urban regeneration company Central Salford is working with law firm Davies Arnold Cooper to try and attract London-based companies to what it hopes will be a media hub for the north.

Peter Williams, partner at Davies Arnold Cooper, said: "We want to help Central Salford bring a greater awareness of the regeneration taking place in Salford to an audience outside of the North West. Prosperous, vibrant business and social communities are being created there and they represent real opportunities for commercial property investors."

The site is already becoming something of a media hub – the BBC has agreed to relocate its childrens and sports departments, as well as Radio Five Live, to Salford Quays, while ITV is currently debating whether to move there or to remain at its existing Quay Street facility in Manchester.

The roadshow event will take place in May.
