The law firm has confirmed it will take 15,000 sq ft at Bruntwood SciTech’s No1 Circle Square, a move reported by Place North West in April this year.
Around 100 of the firm’s staff will move from its current home at New York Street to Circle Square once the building completes in September 2020.
The legal practice has seen significant expansion in the past two years, particularly in its real estate offering headed up by Mike Edge and Rachel Pitman, who joined the company last January.
Eight new staff have joined its real estate team in the past year, while the company also hired partner Richard New from Eversheds Sutherland in February.
Mills & Reeve is the second confirmed tenant at Circle Square, following HP which took a 10-year lease on a 20,000 sq ft space in December last year.
Place North West also reported in May this year that marketing firm Dentsu Aegis was eyeing a move for up to 100,000 sq ft at the £750m development, which is set to include 400,000 sq ft of offices in its first phase.
Niall Innes, head of Mills & Reeve’s Manchester office, said: “We looked at various office developments across the city, however, we immediately recognised Bruntwood’s vision for Circle Square which focuses on collaboration with other tenants within a part of the city which will become known for innovation. It was important that we were the right fit.
“Two of our key sector strengths are technology and education and with the universities close by and the Manchester Technology Centre on site plus our collaborative ethos, Circle Square fits neatly with our strategy for the next decade.”
