Miller begins 50,000 sq ft retail project

Miller Construction has started work on Halewood's new £7m shopping centre on Leather Lane for Neptune Developments.

The 50,000 sq ft has already attracted pre-let deals with Aldi, Home Bargains, Tesco and Cooltrader, plus Ladbrokes, Barnardos, and Debbie Stone Hair & Beauty. A local newsagent and takeaway will also be relocating to the development.

Rob Mason, development director of Neptune, said: "We are pleased to be able to appoint a contractor of the calibre of Miller Construction to this project. People will now be able to see their new centre really taking shape. The start date marks an important milestone both for the partners involved and the local community who will be using these facilities in the future and can look forward to them opening next year."

Ian Jubb, regional managing director for Miller Construction, said: "Miller Construction is delighted to be working with Neptune for the delivery of the redevelopment of a district shopping centre for Halewood."

Completion is due in August 2012.
