The investment firm has appointed Dan Hyde as senior development manager to lead the delivery of 4 Angel Square, the latest office at the 20-acre Manchester business district, among other projects.
Hyde joins MEPC from Kier Property, where he spent just under five years as senior development manager.
MEPC was acquired by Noma developer Federated Hermes earlier this year and is the asset manager for the project.
Hyde’s appointment comes as contractor Bowmer + Kirkland prepares to start construction of the 200,000 sq ft speculative 4 Angel Square before the end of the year. Completion is due in early 2023, according to MEPC.
Designed by Manchester-based architect SimpsonHaugh, the 11-storey building will sit on the corner of Corporation Street and Miller Street and feature 7,000 sq ft of retail space across two units on the ground floor.
Paul Pavia, development director at MEPC, said: “Dan is joining the MEPC team to drive forward the Noma project, just as we commence the next phase of new-build development.
“He reinforces our local presence and brings with him a strong understanding of the Manchester office market, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality commercial real estate.”
Hyde added: “MEPC and Federated Hermes put sustainable and responsible development at the core of what they do and 4 Angel Square will be one of the first operationally net-zero carbon office buildings to come onto the market.”
Hyde will also lead on the delivery of 2 and 3 Angel Square, which comprise a total of 400,000 sq ft of office accommodation.
Manchester City Council is poised to sign off an updated strategic framework for Noma which could see an additional 620,000 sq ft of offices developed.
