McEvoy heads south with John Laing

Aoife McEvoy, associate director in GVA's development team in Manchester, has left the company to go client-side as development manager for John Laing in London.

McEvoy joined GVA in 2007 having previously worked as a surveyor for Manchester City Council. She was fund manager for the Greater Manchester Property Venture Fund and worked with Argent and the Museum of Science & Industry.

At John Laing, McEvoy will have a national role with a focus on commercial and mixed-use opportunities. John Laing is an international investor and asset manager, with a focus on urban regeneration schemes and infrastructure projects.

McEvoy said: "I have been brought on board at John Laing to work with Croydon Council in its joint venture partnership. However, as part of my role I will be identifying opportunities as they emerge, which may include projects in the North West."

Mark Rawstron, senior director of GVA in Manchester, said: "We are sorry to see Aoife go, but wish her all the best. We never stand in the way of people moving on, and as she is going client-side we look forward to the possibility of working with her in the future."

The development team in Manchester currently has three members, director Jonathan Stanlake who will be taking over from McEvoy as lead for the GMPVF. He will be supported by graduate James Couth and PA Andrea Rothwell. Rawstron, an investment specialist, also works alongside the team.
