Mastercard signs with Bruntwood

Bruntwood has agreed a 10-year lease with Mastercard on 6,000 sq ft at Booths Park in Knutsford.

Booths Park is now 84% let across its 200,000 sq ft in eight buildings. The park covers 220 acres complete with fishing lake, cricket club, cycle and running routes, and a farm.

Richard Wharton, director of Jones Lang LaSalle, advised Mastercard. He said: "From our initial discussions with Mastercard it was clear that providing employees with pleasant surroundings and encouraging a healthy work-life balance was important to the company and a central part of the brief. In Booths Park we have found that rare combination of high quality office accommodation, with all the benefits associated with any Bruntwood scheme, in a parkland setting with sports facilities and quite incredible scenic views from every window – just 40 minutes from Manchester city centre."

Bruntwood said the Mastercard deal is the first of three set to complete in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, Cllr Michael Jones, leader of Cheshire East Council, toured the site following the completion of refurbishment in two of the blocks. He said: "It is incredibly satisfying to see the remarkable transformation of Booths Park over recent years and we welcome the investment that Bruntwood has made in this part of Cheshire. The tranquillity of the development belies the fact that there are more than 1,200 people working here, bringing a welcome boost to the economy of the area."

Bruntwood has spent £12m on Booths Park in the past eight years. Chris Oglesby, chief executive of Bruntwood, added: "I was delighted to welcome Councillor Jones to Booths Park, this is a development the whole team is particularly proud of for both its stunning setting and the service that we provide for our customers. We have invested heavily in the restoration of the Georgian hall and refurbishment of the newer office accommodation, as well as the parkland and public realm, to create a destination that people enjoy to visit for both work and relaxation. I'm pleased that these attributes have influenced Mastercard's decision to come to Booths Park, and look forward to welcoming them to site."

CBRE and Edwards & Co are the letting agents on Booths Park.
