Maryport Town Hall closes for refurbishment

Allerdale Borough Council has closed Maryport Town Hall to allow refurbishment work to be carried out.

The reception area of the customer service centre, within the town hall, is being revamped from 3.30pm today and the building is expected to re-open at 9am on Thursday 3 June.

The council said the alterations are designed to improve the efficiency of the front desk in offering services to customers.

Although the town hall will be temporarily closed to the public, arrangements have been made to allow Maryport town council access during this time, including its meeting on Tuesday night.

During the bank holiday weekend, the council said Allerdale House in Workington and area offices in Cockermouth, Keswick and Wigton will be closed on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

The Silloth Tourist Information Centre will operate as normal.
