Manor house and school to go under the hammer

A manor house and former Wesleyan school are among the lots to be auctioned by Pugh & Co this month.

The former grade 2-listed manor house in Cliviger, Burnley has a guide price of between £100,000 and £150,000. It requires full renovation and is set in 1.5 acres of rural land.

The former Wesleyan School on Crown Street, Ashton-under-Lyne is expected to sell for between £90,000 and £110,000. It has planning consent for 35 apartments.

Pugh & Co's April auction includes 170 residential and commercial lots across its four auction venues in Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds and Newcastle.

One hundred lots will be offered for sale at the Manchester auction being held at Manchester United Football Club on Thursday, 25 April.

Pugh's residential division, The Auction People, also has a number of vacant and residential investment lots on offer.

These include lot 148, a detached two storey apartment block on Lake Bank in Littleborough comprising five one bedroom apartments.

The property produces a combined annual income of £26,700 and is guided at £200,000 to £225,000.

Paul Thompson, director and auctioneer at Pugh & Co, said: "There are some interesting investment and redevelopment opportunities coming up in our April auctions.

"This is a great opportunity for buyers to pick up properties on sale at realistic prices, and for the purchase to be completed quickly."
