Lovell gains housing refurbishment contracts in Liverpool

The company, based in John Street, Birkenhead, is set to carry out a £6.2m housing modernisation scheme for housing association Liverpool Mutual Homes.

Lovell is also undertaking a £3.4m housing modernisation programme in Liverpool for Cobalt Housing.

Lovell will install new bathrooms and kitchens at 1,000 homes in the Dingle, Hunts Cross and Halewood areas of Liverpool for Liverpool Mutual Homes.

The work is part of a £400m housing improvement programme by Liverpool Mutual Homes which manages over 15,000 homes in the city.

The modernisation scheme is expected to be complete in April 2010.

In a separate contract, Lovell has been appointed to carry out modernisation work worth £3.4m to bathrooms at 1,350 homes managed by Cobalt Housing on the Sparrowhall, Gems and Formosa estates in the Croxteth area of the city.

The improvement programme is set to finish in April 2010.

Nigel Yates, regional director at Lovell, said: "Lovell has carried out a number of housing improvement programmes for Cobalt Housing since 2003."
