Listed mill comes to market with hotel consent

SCP Investments has instructed Savills to bring to market Kirk Mill near Chipping in the Forest of Bowland, Lancashire, with planning permission in place for a hotel and restaurant conversion.

The redundant mill is listed and sits in 11 acres. There is planning permission for conversion into a 60-bedroom hotel with associated leisure uses including a wedding venue, spa, restaurants, trail head centre and kids’ club.

SCPi will shortly begin refurbishing the mill to prevent further deterioration of the building fabric. Neighbouring factory premises will be demolished and a new village cricket pitch will be completed.

In a separate project, SCPi is delivering 46 residential units elsewhere in the village.

Tom Cunningham, hotels director at Savills, comments: “This is an excellent opportunity to acquire a significant hotel opportunity in an area with a strong tourist and leisure trade.  Many of the original features of the 18th Century mill at the heart of the site have been maintained which will create a real point of difference.”
