Kier opens regional facilities office

Kier Facilities Services has opened a new office in Manchester to service existing clients including St Helens NHS Lift Trust, the Ministry of Justice, Oldham Schools PFI and Oldham Library PFI.

The company is also currently working on the mechanical and electrical systems at the new Greater Manchester Police Headquarters in east Manchester on behalf of the joint venture Ask/Goodman.

The Manchester office is the fifth KFS regional office and the Basingstoke-based company said it completes the national network.

KFS managing director Colin Hale said: "The work we've won in the North West is hugely encouraging for us."

"News reports on the state of the economy and industry in general seem to conflict week to week, but we've definitely noticed an upward trend."

Over the last 12 months KFS turnover has grown at an impressive 15%. The North West office is based in Trafford Park.
