Heathcotes wins national award for ACC catering

Heathcotes ACC Liverpool was named event caterer of the year at the 2009 Cost Sector Caterers Awards.

The company, a specially formed subsidiary of the Heathcotes Outside group, was praised for its modern, innovative and professional approach to catering and its ability to overcome the complexities of catering for events with varying requirements. Judges paid testament to the event management skills and professional approach employed at the UK's newest convention centre.

In the past 12 months, Heathcotes ACC Liverpool organised the catering for the BBC Sports Personality of the Year, the MTV Europe awards and the RIBA Stirling Prize.

Gary Bates, managing director of Heathcotes ACC Liverpool, said: "To be named as the best event caterer of the year is a fantastic achievement for us in the first year of our operation at this new venue. It is testament to the strength and experience of the team we have built here at Heathcotes ACC, and their dedication.

"The aim of ACC Liverpool to deliver real value for money without compromising on quality is expressed through the standard of our catering product and the care and attention we build into each and every event.

"This is a truly remarkable venue and this award recognises the contribution the catering makes to the delivery of successful events and the positive experience of the guests."

The Arena & Convention Centre Liverpool, in Kings Dock, opened in January 2008 and is owned by Liverpool City Council.
