HCA offers lifeline to stalled projects
More than 40 residential schemes across the region have been shortlisted for funding in the latest round of the Get Britain Building fund administered by the Homes & Communities Agency.
Shortlisted projects will now go into due diligence with the HCA. There were more than 200 stalled building projects across the country named by housing minister Grant Shapps in his announcement on Monday afternoon.
There was also an extra £150m released for the Get Britain Building fund – taking the total to £570m, which could pay for 16,000 new homes to be built.
Most of the funding will be made available in the form of commercial loans, with the intention of returning money to the HCA to be re-invested in other projects in the future.
The fund was three times over-subscribed.
