GVA recruits former Orange staff as part of EE deal

The successful tender has seen three members of staff transfer to the Manchester office of GVA from the former Orange network.

Ruth Barker has joined as mobile broadband network limited finance administrator, and Rob Jeffrey and Mike Wharton have joined as MBNL estates surveyors.

The Manchester office of GVA appointed the new team members following the firm's appointment from Everything Everywhere to manage its entire portfolio of 16,000 base stations across Great Britain.

The national Telecoms team won the long-term EE contract, which will see the property consultants manage rent and rates payments, estates data, handling rent reviews and lease renewals, rating appeals and general estate management, in December 2012.

EE is the latest telecommunications company to hire GVA whose other clients include T Mobile and 3 network.

Mark Rawstron, senior director at GVA, said: "As city centre areas make provisions for 4G, the UK's only 4G provider, EE, is clearly in an excellent market position.

"We are all excited to be working with EE as it looks to expand its operations across the UK, and are delighted to welcome Ruth, Rob, and Mike to reinforce our strong telecoms experience.

"In addition to our current clients, EE's appointment now means the team has a 70% share of the telecommunications sector."
