Former Wrexham Tetra Pak site sold for £3.5m

Global plastics manufacturing and recycling company Mainetti has acquired the former Tetra Pak site on Wrexham Industrial Estate for £3.5m.

The 30-acre site accommodates 270,000 sq ft of manufacturing and distribution facilities.

Agent TFC was appointed to find a permanent site for Mainetti's operations following a fire which destroyed the company's facility at the Greenfield Business Park, Holywell in May 2013.

Mainetti is now undertaking fit-out works and expects to be fully operational in April.

Tetra Pak has relocated to Chester Business Park.

TFC is retained to let the surplus 25,000 sq ft office accommodation, which will be developed as a business centre to provide offices to new start-ups and SMEs.

David Rowley, director at TFC, said: "After a comprehensive search across the North West and Yorkshire we identified the former Tetra Pak premises in Wrexham as the ideal option and an off-market deal was negotiated with the vendors."

Graham Wilson, production director at Mainetti, said: "We have found a site that fully meets the needs of our business and helps to maintain jobs in North Wales where the company has operated for 31 years".

Legat Owen acted for the vendor.
