Everyman to open before Christmas
Everyman Cinemas has confirmed its opening date at Liverpool’s Metquarter as Tuesday 18 December.
The boutique cinema operator said that the Liverpool venue will include a bar and Spielburger restaurant area, with the brand’s service-to-seats offer in operation. The cinema has four screens and occupies a total of 18,000 sq ft at Metquarter.
Crispin Lilly, chief executive of the group, said: “We’re so excited to open in Liverpool, it’s a city steeped in entertainment and music history and we can’t wait to be a part of it.
“Our focus is really on experience, we aim to make every guest’s visit special no matter what they choose to watch, and make them fall in love with a night at the cinema.”
Everyman has also taken over the former JJB Sports unit at George Street, Altrincham, which opened this month. Liverpool will be the group’s 26th operation.
Simons Group has been the main contractor on the overhaul of Metquarter over the course of this year, with the food and drink offer at the 130,000 sq ft shopping centre being increased to 20,000 sq ft as owner Queensverry Real Estate seeks to reposition the 2006-built destination.
The one in Alti is great albeit a little pricey

The existing theatre in Liverpool is The Everyman. How confusing is that?!! Shouldn’t be allowed.
