ERDF enterprise deadline looms

The North West European Regional Development Fund team has issued another call for Business Growth Hub support projects with one week to go before the deadline.

The call, which is endorsed by the region's Local Enterprise Partnerships, will support the development of Business Growth Hubs in the North West to boost and accelerate business growth; key to the creation of jobs and increased GVA.

The deadline for the first stage of applications is noon on Monday 18 June 2012.

The call will be competitive with up to £15m identified for the North West outside Merseyside, which has a separate programme, and the minimum ERDF funding request should be for £1m. LEPs have identified a potential upper limit for ERDF for their respective sub-regional Business Growth Hub activity:

  • Cheshire and Warrington ERDF upper limit £3m
  • Cumbria £5m
  • Greater Manchester £5.5m
  • Lancashire £5m

Applicants will need to have in place eligible match funding for the balance of costs, this must be from a source other than the European Community.

This call aims to approve sub regional projects that, alongside existing provision, deliver integrated support to North West small and medium sized enterprises with growth potential.
