DTZ markets outgoing MMU campus for sale

Manchester Metropolitan University has retained DTZ to sell the 5.4-acre Elizabeth Gaskell Campus in Hathersage Road next to Manchester Royal Infirmary.

The campus contains six buildings which have been primarily occupied by the Faculty of Health, Psychology and Social Care which is due to move in September 2014 to the new £139m campus at Birley Fields in Hulme.

Launching the sale process, Chris Lloyd, director of DTZ in Manchester, said: "We anticipate strong interest from uses as diverse as residential, health and education. It is rare that a site of this size and profile comes to the market in this location and we anticipate interest from a range of developers and potential owner occupiers."

The rear of the site fronts Oxford Place and contains two substantial residential houses within a mature landscaped setting in the Victoria Park Conservation Area.

Detailed offers are sought by 12.00 Noon on Friday 24 January 2014 and will be considered on a conditional, subject to planning, basis.
