Construction on £7m Salford school begins

G&J Seddon has started constructing a new £7m community primary school in Salford.

The 72-week project will result in the provision of a new school for families in Weaste, Seedley and Langworthy.

G&J Seddon was awarded the contract through the construction partnership with Salford City Council.

The school is due for completion in June 2010 and open to pupils in September of the same year.

Wind turbine and solar panels will be incorporated into the new building and a new football pitch will be created.

This project is the latest from the partnering agreement between Salford City Council and G&J Seddon, which is part of the Seddon Group.

As part of the partnering arrangement, G&J Seddon, are involved with a number of Salford City Council construction contracts over the next two years worth between £500,000 and £30m.
