Clatterbridge launches £65m redevelopment project

The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust has started the procurement process for a design-and-build construction partner to build cancer treatment facilities in Liverpool and Wirral.

The NHS Trust is looking to build a Comprehensive Cancer Centre next to the Royal Liverpool University Hospital on West Derby Street in Liverpool, as well as redeveloping the current Clatterbridge Cancer Centre in Bebington, Wirral.

The Clatterbridge Cancer NHS Trust is one of the largest networked cancer centres in the UK, with nine sites across Merseyside and Cheshire.

The Royal Liverpool & Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust is also currently developing a new hospital with Carillion next to its current hospital site at a capital cost of £335m. Completion is scheduled for 2017.

Deadline for receipt of tenders for the Clatterbridge Cancer Centre projects is 12 June 2014 at noon.
