Citypress loses DJ brief to Deloitte incumbent

The public relations work for Drivers Jonas Deloitte will switch to Deloitte's existing advisor, MC2, in January after the decision to consolidate the work with one company.

Property consultancy Drivers Jonas was acquired by accountancy giant Deloitte in January 2010 and moved under the same roof in 2 Hardman Street in Manchester's Spinningfields office district in June 2011.

Manchester is the largest of the five DJ Deloitte offices outside London and the last to merge the PR accounts.

Laoise Flanagan, senior marketing manager at Deloitte in Manchester, said: "Following a review of our external PR suppliers, Deloitte and DJD have decided to combine the PR offering to take advantage of the synergies between the businesses going forward. It makes sense for all involved to engage with one agency who will provide a full, comprehensive service to support the growth of the business."

The move leaves Citypress without a property agent client on its books, a gap it will now be eager to plug. MC2 already handles the regional PR for CB Richard Ellis. There are other Manchester PR firms with more than one surveyor on their books; Roland Dransfield PR has GVA and Knight Frank, whilst PAPR works for Cushman & Wakefield and WHR Property Consultants.

MC2 and Citypress declined to comment.
