Chester theatre designer to address architecture event
Simon Erridge, director of Bennetts Associates and the architect for the recent transformation of the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon and the architect for Chester's new theatre complex, will be the guest speaker at the next lecture in the series from Cheshire Society of Architects.
Bennetts Associates' projects are frequently located in complex historic settings and the practice has gained a strong reputation for sympathetic and sustainable solutions in these circumstances.
The proposals for Chester's grade 2 Art Deco former Odeon Cinema site are intended to create a major cultural focus for Chester. Final proposals are expected to be published later this year.
The event is sponsored by the Grosvenor Estate and will take place in the Long Room at Eaton Hall, Chester.

I thought this project was out to tender with the NWCH. As Such the architects role is not yet appointed. Each contractor must get 3 prices, or are you suggesting the decision is already made and the NWCH is just wasting the time and money of local architects? Surely not.
