Chester Renaissance starts recruiting for new chairman
Chester Renaissance is advertising for a new chairman following the decision by Shane Flynn to step down from the position later this year.
The new head of the regeneration agency will, according to the job description, 'work with key public and private sector investors and funding bodies to re-energise and reshape the city while protecting Chester's past, by supporting / delivering the City's regeneration agenda.'
The chairman will also be responsible for governance and strategic direction. Chester Renaissance said it is likely that the successful candidate will be from the private sector and will have leadership experience at board level within high profile organisations.
The successful candidate will possess skills in the development of strong alliances and working relationships with a range of stakeholders both public and private sector.
A fee of £10,000/year is payable and the chairman would need to be available for no less than two days a month.
The closing date for applications is Friday 11 June 2010 with interviews taking place 24 June 2010. All shortlisted candidates will be invited to meet the Board on the evening of Wednesday 23 June 2010.
Flynn, formerly chief executive of credit card company MBNA Europe in Chester, will remain as a non-executive director.
