Charterfields enters agency market

Valuation and asset management specialist Charterfields has appointed David Fowlds to add occupational agency to its Manchester offer.

Fowlds joins from Colliers International, where he was director and head of the commercial leasing teams in Manchester and Leeds, specialising in industrial premises. Fowlds is one of three new recruits in Manchester, the others being asset valuer Declan Kilbride, who joins from Edward Symmons and graduate Matthew Corcoran from JPS Surveyors.

At Charterfields he will handle the acquisition and disposal of commercial property and providing consultancy advice in respect of matters such as valuation, rent reviews, lease renewals and rating. Prior to his appointment, property agency services have been provided out of Charterfields' Sheffield office.

Charterfields' Manchester office was set up in 2007 by director Ian Maycock, who specialises in providing asset valuation and disposal services for insolvency practitioners.

Maycock said: "Charterfields' Manchester office has seen year-on-year growth over the past four years. We have always planned to launch a property agency here and feel the time is now right and that David is the right person for the role. It means we can now provide property services in Manchester to complement our existing service offering. It will also build on the success of our existing property business in Sheffield."
